Betting Biden – Do you think Joe Biden will complete his Presidential term?
You won’t find political betting odds at sportsbooks in the United States, but that doesn’t mean that they don’t exist. Sportsbooks in Europe see plenty of action on political events, especially those that take place in the United States.
The 2020 Presidential Election was a huge hit with bettors throughout Europe, and the odds changed quickly leading up to and on election night. Joe Biden defeated President Donald Trump in a race that took days to decide.
Now odds have been set on whether or not Biden will complete his first term, something that seemed like a long shot when it began. Biden, 78, was viewed as unfit to do the job by some, and most believed that he would be out soon.
Biden had plenty to deal with when he took office, especially in regards to the COVID-19 pandemic and the struggling economy. According to polling figures, Biden has a 53% approval rating, which is actually up from the 46% in April.
The Industry Reacts
Sports betting sites initially set the odds for Biden to remain in office through 2024 as high when he was inaugurated, but things started to turn around during his first 100 days. The odds continue to change, and at one point, it was clear that betting sites believed that his days are numbered.
This week the odds are set at 4/7 that he makes it through his entire term, and recent events have improved the odds. These odds mean that betting sites believe Biden has about a 67 percent chance to serve the United States for four years.
As the health status of Biden changes over the next few years, it will be interesting to keep a close eye on how the odds change or shift.
First Trip to Europe Boosts Odds
The biggest boost to the odds for President Biden has come as he is taking a trip to Europe with First Lady Jill Biden. The President and First Lady made an appearance at the G7 Summit, and they are there on a political trip.
President Biden is not in favor of the Brexit planned by the UK and made his feelings known to Prime Minister Boris Johnson. There is fear that the UK and Ireland could start a war because of this move, and Biden is trying to keep the peace.
After the Summit, the President and First Lady headed off to Brussels to speak with the European Union. Many questioned whether the President had enough strength to not only make this trip but also to represent the United States in a favorable way.
Early 2024 Election Odds
Not only can you place a bet on if Biden will last an entire term, but you can also begin betting on the winner of the next Presidential Election in 2024. This is where the big money comes in, and the top few candidates are already starting to emerge. The BParlay.com team have put together a short list of the next candidates to take a look at.
There are three candidates that have better odds than Biden to win the presidency in 2024, and it doesn’t seem likely that Biden will be healthy enough or popular enough to run again.
Kamala Harris is the current betting favorite to win the 2024 Presidential Election at 4/1. Harris is currently serving as Vice President of the US, and she would be the first woman ever elected President.
Former President Donald Trump has odds set at 6/1 to become president again in 2024, but it’s not even a guarantee that he will run again. Trump still has a large following, and Republicans will likely urge him to consider.
Florida Governor Ron DeSantis is listed at 11/1 to win the 2024 election, and he would be a top choice of the Republican Party.
