Under the Radar AL & NL MVP Best Bets

Under the Radar AL & NL MVP Best Bets

Taking a close look at some of the Under the Radar AL & NL MVP betting options.

The Baseball season is almost here, with Opening Day scheduled for April 7. The season looked like it would be cut short, but baseball bettors were gifted with a new CBA and 162 games. I give you a lot of credit if you are betting Spring Training because it’s a crapshoot.

I will be holding off my straight bets until Opening Day, but I have already placed some MVP bets for the 2022 season. The favorites are Shohei Ohtani and Juan Soto in their respective leagues. These are not bad bets, but the key for future bets is finding value within the market.

Ohtani at +400 and Soto at +280 does not do much for me because I have to risk a lot of money to make the payout worth my while. This is why I am high on the dark horses! Here are my best under-the-radar AL and NL MVP Bets.

NL: Bryce Harper (+900)

Bryce Harper is a baseball prodigy, and he is coming off one of the best seasons of his career. He was named the National League MVP in 2021, and he has great odds considering this fact for the 2022 season.

Harper slashed .309/.429/.615 with a league-leading 42 doubles and 35 bombs. Harper has been in the league a long time, but he is just in his age 29 season, which is considered the beginning of the baseball prime years. This season, the six-time All-Star also has a lot more protection in the lineup, which should help his numbers.

I usually do not like betting on a player to win back-to-back awards because voters want to change up the winner, but Harper is too talented to not bet at +900.

NL: Freddie Freeman (+1200)

Freddie Freeman is in his new home in Los Angeles Dodgers, and I think he is poised for a huge season. The one thing Freeman has in Dodger Blue that he lacked in Atlanta was protection. The Braves won the World Series last season, but Los Angeles still had a much better club.

Freeman is at the end of his prime years, and he is coming off a tremendous season. The World Series champ slashed .300/393/503 with a league-leading 120 runs last year. Freeman was an All-Star last season, and he has won one MVP.

The talent around him in Los Angeles will elevate his play in 2022. Why not learn about what a unit is in sports betting with the BParlay.com guide.

AL: Aaron Judge (+1600)

Aaron Judge is going to strike out, but he has cut this down his swing and miss rate. When Judge is hot, he is one of the most dangerous hitters in the game. Judge is coming off a .287/.373/.544 season where he was named to his third All-Star team.

The thing that hurts Judge is the number of times the Yankees strikeout. He does not have a lot of protection if the team is cold at the plate. This happened more times than not last season.

However, for +1600 odds in Judge’s last contract year, I like him to come up big.

AL: Wander Franco (+1800)

Wander Franco was called up in June last season, and he finished third in the AL Rookie of the Year race. Franco was sensational, and he quickly made adjustments and overcame his shortcomings. This is the sign of greatness in a young player. Why not take a look at the useful BParlay.com moneyline parlay calculator tools.

Franco slashed .288/.347/463 in 70 games with 18 doubles and seven homers. He also hit five triples, which shows his speed on the bases. Franco is a longshot because he does not even have a year of service time, but the shortstop is one of the best baseball players in the game at 21 years old.
