Giannis Antetokounmpo Has Tremendous MVP Value

Giannis Antetokounmpo Has Tremendous MVP Value

Giannis Antetokounmpo has been very good throughout the season, dropping 29.8 PPG with 11.5 rebounds. Antetokounmpo makes a daily double-double look easy, but he is not even close to the top of the betting board for the MVP race.

Antetokounmpo is currently in third in the future markets to win the NBA MVP behind Joel Embiid and Nikola Jokic. However, this does not mean you should fade Antetokounmpo. There is no better bet than the Greek Freak when it comes to value.

Embiid is -150, and Jokic is +135, so a $100 wager does not provide much value on either player. When betting futures, you always want to lay your risk at the right time. Antetokounmpo still has value at +900, so if you are looking at the NBA MVP future, he is where your eyes should go.

Fading Embiid and Jokic – NBA News

Embiid and Jokic are the MVP favorites in Vegas, but their numbers are not overwhelmingly better than Antetokounmpo. Earlier in March, these two were competing in what was believed to be an MVP showdown, but it really did not shift the betting markets.

Jokic won the award last season and has lived up to the hype. However, it’s always tough to win back-to-back awards because the committee typically wants to spread the love. A back-to-back winner really has to show they deserve it in the second season. Stay up to date with Todays NBA Parlay picks with the BParlay.com dedicated Picks & Parlay tips.

Jokic has been terrific, but if other players are doing similar numbers, they have an advantage. Embiid’s injury in the middle of the season has not swayed him from the top spot, but it has allowed Antetokounmpo to sneak into the conversation.

Winning future bets is all about finding the dark horse that Vegas is not boosting. Antetokounmpo fits this narrative in 2021-22, and if you believe, it’s a perfect time to bet the star.

Giannis Antetokounmpo Has Value

If you look at Basketball Reference, you will find a model that projects championship winners. It bases the predictions on numbers for former champions. It takes more than just statistics into account because it has Embiid as just an 11.3% probability of winning the award.

The model has shown the injury hurting Embiid’s chances of taking home MVP. Jokic has the highest probability of winning at 37.9% because his numbers are similar to 2020-21. Embiid is sitting between the two stars at 28.1%, but this does not correlate with the Vegas markets.

He is closer to Jokic than Embiid, so this is a promising sign for bettors looking to invest in the Greek Freak at this point of the season. Every voter uses their own criteria to select MVP winners, but the probability shows that Antetokounmpo has strong value at +900.

Vegas makes Antetokounmpo seem like he has no shot, but do not fall for this trap. He has missed less games than Embiid, which is valued by bettors. Additionally, he is scoring over 25 PPG, which is slightly lower than the two favorites but still respectable.

The biggest statistic that comes into the MVP voting is winning. Antetokounmpo is a proven winner, and he is leading the Milwaukee Bucks this season. The Milwaukee Bucks and Philadelphia 76ers are both 44-27 and will be contenders in the Eastern Conference.

Jokic has done a great job leading a battered Nuggets team, but they may be a play-in team in the Western Conference. Denver currently holds the final spot in the playoffs, but they are battling the Timberwolves, and the war is far from over. If Jokic’s Nuggets are not in the postseason, you can likely kiss his MVP goodbye. Winning means something in the NBA because it’s a star-driven league, and Giannis Antetokounmpo knows how to win in Milwaukee.
