How Does SugarHouse Payout a Parlay Bet?
Since winning a parlay bet is harder than winning a straight bet, what are the benefits of placing a parlay bet? Quite simply, SugarHouse Sportsbook will pay you better odds for doing so. Let’s take an example so we can see this a little more clearly.
For this example, we’re going to place $20 in total bets on both of this Sunday’s NFL Conference Championship games – the New Orleans Saints versus the Los Angeles Rams, and the Kansas City Chiefs versus the New England Patriots. Hypothetically, we’re going to go with the two favorites in these games, which is the Saints -3.5 and the Chiefs -3.
If we were to split our $20 up and place a $10 wager on each game, our total potential payout is $38 if both games win. That’s because the Saints’ bet comes with a vig of -110 and the Chiefs’ bet is -113.
If we were to make this a parlay bet instead, our odds would increase quite a bit. Instead of placing two separate $10 bets, we’re going to place one $20 parlay bet on both of those same lines. By doing so, it increases our potential payout to $72.20 if both games win, since the odds are +261.
The difference in payout, then, is $34.20 greater for the parlay bet than it is for the two single bets.
How Do You Place a Parlay Bet with SugarHouse Sportsbook?
Placing a parlay bet is quite simple on the SugarHouse Sportsbook desktop and mobile versions. In fact, it’s very similar to placing a regular single bet, with one extra step. Again, for the purposes of this example, we’ll be placing a bet on the NFL Conference Championship games for this Sunday.
First, start by logging into your SugarHouse Sportsbook account, or sign up for a new one if you’re in the state of New Jersey. (Make sure to be on the lookout for new sign-up bonuses if you are a new player). Once you have signed in successfully, navigate to the NFL page by clicking the NFL button under the “Popular” tab at the left.
Once you do so, it will bring you to a list of the NFL games that are available to be wagered on in the middle of the screen. From here, make your bet selections by clicking the box that matches what you want to wager on. When you do so, the boxes will become highlighted in dark blue, and a pop-up box with your bet slip will appear to the right.
The bet slip will default to singles bets. To make your selections a parlay, simply click on the “Parlay” tab at the top middle of the bet slip. This will display your bet slip as a parlay bet, and show you the odds below. Once you enter a wager amount, your bet slip will display your total wager, as well as the potential payout.
Simply click the big green “Place Bet” button at the bottom, and your parlay bet will be accepted.
