Week 1 of the NCAA Football schedule is finally complete, and there were some great matchups that took place. Teams will now start to focus on Week 2, and it’s another loaded slate of college football games.
With so many games on the schedule, putting together a Week 2 parlay of five legs is completely possible. Here are the five games and picks that you should focus on.
Alabama Crimson Tide -20.0 at Texas Longhorns
One of the most highly-anticipated games in Week 2 is a matchup between the Alabama Crimson Tide and the Texas Longhorns. Even though this game is anticipated, Alabama is a whopping 20.0-point favorite on the road.
Texas was able to pick up a win in Week 1, but they are now set to face the most talented team in the country. Alabama picked up a 55-0 win over Utah State in the season opener and looked sharp in doing so.
Texas is going to struggle to score, and that defense will get exposed. Bet on the Crimson Tide at -20.0 as they roll to a blowout victory.
Appalachian State Mountaineers at Texas A&M Aggies (-18.0)
Appalachian State came into the 2022 season with a ton of optimism, and they are a team loaded with talent. After losing to North Carolina in the season opener, though, some of that optimism and hope has gone away.
Texas A&M should be one of the best teams in the country this season, but they got off to a slow start in Week 1. The Aggies are loaded with talent on offense, and they should also be a dominant defensive team.
This game is going to get out of hand in a hurry for the Aggies as they roll to a blowout win and cover the 18-point spread.
Washington State Cougars +17.0 at Wisconsin Badgers
The Washington State Cougars travel to Madison on Saturday for a matchup with the Wisconsin Badgers. Washington State is not expected to be a strong team this season, and they will be taking on one of the Big Ten’s best teams in Wisconsin.
Wisconsin is a whopping 17-point spread favorite in this game, but they aren’t a team that usually lights up a scoreboard. The Badgers should be solid on the defensive end, but they don’t run away from most opponents,
Washington State survived a scare from Idaho in the season opener, but that game should make them more focused in this matchup. The Cougars will have to play extremely well to even keep this game close, but they are capable.
It’s hard to pass up on 17 points, and taking Washington State in this game is the perfect addition to a parlay.
Iowa State Cyclones at Iowa Hawkeyes (-3.5)
The Iowa State Cyclones and Iowa Hawkeyes always play in a big rivalry game every year, and it is usually unpredictable. Iowa is a slim 3.5-point favorite in this edition of the game, and the Hawkeyes do appear to be the better overall team.
Iowa State is not going to make life easy on Iowa, though, and it will likely be a game that is decided in the fourth quarter. The Hawkeyes appear to be a more disciplined team, though, and a lack of mistakes will be important in this one.
Take the Hawkeyes -3.5, as they are able to come away with a victory and cover the spread.
Kentucky Wildcats +4.5 at Florida Gators
The Florida Gators and the Kentucky Wildcats have a great rivalry in the SEC, and those teams are set to meet up again in Week 2. Kentucky is the ranked team in this matchup, but they are also 4.5-point underdogs against Florida on Saturday.
Florida quarterback Anthony Richardson threw for 168 yards in Week 1 and also rushed for 106 yards and three touchdowns. The Gators can’t rely on Richardson to do everything in this matchup, though, as Kentucky can be great defensively.
Kentucky was sharp on both sides of the football in Week 1, and they won’t be intimidated to play in this matchup. Even if the Wildcats aren’t able to win, taking the 4.5 points is the way to go in this football game.
