This may lead you to wonder how the race is so tight if Guerrero is playing this well? Shohei Ohtani is second because he is doing something we have not seen since Babe Ruth or Vladimir Guerrero Jr.
He is pitching and hitting at a high level on a nightly basis. Ohtani is tied with Guerrero for home runs with 23, and he has an OBP of .351. On the bump, he is 3-1 with a 2.58 ERA. deGrom is -450 to claim the NL Cy Young. He is followed by a pair of Milwaukee Brewers’ pitchers Brandon Woodruff and Corbin Burnes. Woodruff is +800, and Burnes is +1500.
A risk bet on one of these two pitchers could have value because of deGrom being injury prone. Yet, if he stays healthy, you are giving away money.
