When Indianapolis and Kansas City meet on Saturday afternoon, we could be seeing the hottest two offenses in the league go head to head. We all know of Patrick Mahomes after his MVP season. However, recently their offense has hit a bump in the road. Some of that is attributed to Kareem Hunt, but a lot of that comes down to Sammy Watkins.
Watkins is a field stretcher who takes pressure off of Tyreek Hill deep, and opens up the middle of the field for Travis Kelce. When Watkins is added to the two playmakers, no one can be doubled, and everyone has a chance for a big game. Of course Hunt would complete the group but Damien Williams has been fine. Watkins is back in this game and the Kansas City could have success through the air against a Colts defense that has not faced many great quarterbacks.
They have taken on Derek Carr, Blake Bortles, Marcus Mariota, Blaine Gabbert, Ryan Tannehill, Derek Anderson, Cody Kessler DeShaun Watson, Dak Prescott, and Eli Manning. Not a murderers row of quarterbacks. Patrick Mahomes could certainly find success.
On the other end the Indianapolis will do their share of scoring as well. Andrew Luck is hot and efficient, as the team finally built an offensive line around him. The team has been able to run the football successfully and protect Luck when he drops back and that has made all the difference. In this matchup the Kansas City run defense taking on a revamped run offense from the Indy will likely decide the game.
With Indy proving against a much better Houston defense that they can run it is hard to discount that being a possibility. Look for both offenses to fire back and forth and the Colts to find a way to stay in this game
