Dark Horse March Madness Teams

Dark Horse March Madness Teams

The BParlay.com Dark Horse March Madness has begun!

The NCAA Tournament is almost here, and that means March Madness is set to begin. Every year, there are a few dark horse teams that make a run for the National Championship.

Sometimes these teams finish the job in the Final Four, and other times they do not, but if you can pick a dark horse, it will be very lucrative for your bankroll.

The odds on these teams have high value in every matchup, so this is why you want to find your NCAA Tournament dark horse as quickly as possible. Here are a few teams that could surprise some people in the big dance.

North Carolina Tar Heels

North Carolina has proven they are a championship team in the final stretch of the season. The Tar Heels established themselves in the national spotlight in the final game of the regular season when they defeated Duke.

This win came in Coach K’s final game at Cameron Indoor Stadium, and North Carolina was a double-digit underdog. It’s very hard to beat Duke on their home floor, but the Tar Heels made it happen.

The team then advanced all the way to the semifinal of the ACC Tournament. They have done enough to make the tournament, and this team will be dangerous when they are given that chance.

Armando Bacot is the player to watch for the Tar Heels. He has done it all for the team, averaging a double-double in every contest.

He may be the best player in the ACC, and if he comes up big in March, the Tar Heels will become a legitimate threat at the title. UConn Huskies

The UConn Huskies lost in the semifinal of the Big East Tournament, but this did not take away from their ability to win big games. The 2021-22 Huskies have a very similar recipe to successful UConn teams in the past.

If they get a convincing win under their belt in the first round, it should propel UConn to make a deep run. UConn is 23-9 on the season, and they are playing like a national power once again. This has been very good to witness because college basketball is more fun when UConn is good.

The Huskies have been able to win because of their strength on the defensive side of the floor. This has allowed the offense to thrive because they have not been under too much pressure to make shots. Arkansas Razorbacks

Arkansas is one of the most underlooked teams in the SEC. The team is not the best in the SEC, but they have been imposing throughout the season. They have the framework to make a deep run in the NCAA Tournament if they get hot.

Arkansas is one of the toughest teams in the NCAA. The player to watch for the Razorbacks is JD Notae.

Notae has been tremendous this season, averaging 18.9 PPG and 3.6 assists. The team made it all the way to the Elite Eight in 2021, so this team knows how to win.

They also rank high in defensive efficiency. This is the most indicative stat for championship basketball teams.

Virginia Tech Hokies

Virginia Tech won the ACC Championship in the most unexpected manner. It was the definition of a Cinderella run for a conference championship. The team was 23-12 but won three straight in the ACC Tournament against Clemson, North Carolina, and Duke to win the title.

This was an unprecedented run that nobody expected to occur. Coach Mike Young has done an excellent job putting his team in positions to win games, and they have ripped off 14 of their past 16. Keep an eye out for the Hokies in the big dance. We hope you have enjoyed reading the BParlay.com Dark Horse March Madness summary!
